Great Initiative by Heritage Foundation

Heritage Foundation is organizing workshops and creating community service opportunities for the youth of Karachi. Their program is commendable and we encourage maximum participation. This is our city, and we need to own it!

The Plan: Volunteers to help clean external facade of Denso Hall and heritage buildings facing Marriott Road.

Each Saturday 12 students from a university will be sent where along with the foundation, students would be required to do what they can to bring the buildings towards a better state of condition. This will require, painting, Photography, cleaning, rearranging, gardening etc.

This program is only for Saturday’s for student convenience. And on completion of 20 hours of community service (during 4 to 5 visits) participants will be awarded certificates of acknowledgment. This could be a great plus on your resume!

KUSC 2010

Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2010 to Sat, 13 Mar 2010

1. Karachi United Schools’ Championship is the premier school football tournament of the city and Karachi United FC has been hosting it for the last 4 years.

2. This is the fifth edition of the KUSC

3. Karachi Grammar School has been the champions for 4 years running.

4. KGS is again the number one seed for this year’s tournament. Other seeded teams are Army Public School, Foundation Public School and Beaconhouse – Jubilee.

5. The participating 16 teams were divided into groups of 4.

6. The group stage will be followed by quarter finals to be competed by the top 2 teams from each group followed by semi-finals and then the final

7. To date two rounds have the group phase have taken place. All group matches being played at the Aga Khan Gymkhana.

8. In the 16 matches 53 goals have been scored. Top goal scorers so far: Shaezar Azmat (KGS): 4 goals, Daniyal Ijaz (Lyceum): 3, Faraz Khan (City School – PAF): 3, Kareem Kerai (KGS): 3.

9. Final to take place on March 13th.

10. Awards for Golden Boot, Most Valuable Player, Best Coach, and People’s Choice Player of the Tournament to be given apart from trophies for the champion and runner-up team.
