IKEBANA is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is more than simply putting flowers in a container. It is a disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together. IKEBANA is creative expression within certain rules of construction. Its materials are living branches, leaves, grasses, and blossoms. Its heart is the beauty resulting from color combinations, natural shapes, graceful lines, and the meaning latent in the total form of the arrangement. IKEBANA's essence and wellspring exists in the human heart before an arrangement appears as form. If one has a beautiful heart, the form of ikebana will also be beautiful.

Facilitator: Sadia Saeed
Duration: 9 weeks/two classes a week
Course fee: 10,000/-

STRATEGIC VISIONS

Identifying a clear and meaningful vision is critical towards personal and organizational success and excellence. A life without a clear vision is a life without a direction, a life full of confusions and contradictions. Similarly, many organizations live from crisis to crisis--rudderless ships in turbulent waters-- with their prospects of success and their very existence at stake.

Then there are people with dreams and aspirations that appear surreal in the backdrop of the hustle of real life, of making ends meet and of the struggle to keep pace with the world which refuses to slow down. They often wonder if their dreams would ever move from the realm of fantasy to reality.

This workshop is designed to give you the fundamental paradigms, tools and the language to address this complex yet important subject.
STRATEGIC TIME MANAGEMENT

Since time is an important factor in all that we do, it is but logical that its proper management would contribute towards success in all areas of our life; hence the adage: time is life.

One’s perspective and paradigm regarding time and its management is at the core of how one handles his/her time. “I don’t need time management training,” once a person said, “look, I am always on time.” This is actually correct according to his understanding of time management as he was equating time management with punctuality.

A naval officer said: “Two things come to my mind when I think of time management: speed and element of surprise”. This complex perspective will define how this officer will manage his time.

Acknowledging that people have different perspectives, we have developed a unique perspective and paradigm of time management which differentiates our workshop from others.
October 14 - 16 Karachi Marriott Hotel, Karachi 0800 - 1700 Rs 17,500/-
For more info: http://www.timelenders.com/workshop_strategic_time.htm

Strategic Negotiation Skills - 5th Workshop

Date: Thu, 21 Oct 2010 to Sat, 23 Oct 2010
Duration: 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Good negotiation skills are critical to success both at work and home. When people enter into a business, a social association or a marriage, a process of give and take starts resulting in disagreements. Consensus is required. Negotiation skills are the foundation of building such consensuses.

At work, we negotiate for our salaries, benefits and even vacations; as business leaders we negotiate for prices, services and agreements; at home we negotiate with our spouse to select schools for our kids, to rent an apartment, to buy a car…

This 18-hour workshop covers the fundamental skills behind effective negotiations. We will learn simple rules like ‘negotiate on the standards before negotiating on the substance’. Similarly, we shall learn that we should have an alternative if the negotiation were to break down called BATNA (best alternative to a negotiated agreement) which empowers you to negotiate better.

We shall see how sometimes it is better to walk away from a negotiation than to carry on and how to create a win-win situation in negotiations by avoiding win-lose or lose-lose situations.

Lastly, We shall see the Islamic perspective of negotiations and how honesty and integrity forms the most important substance of effective negotiations and how sometimes we are not only negotiating for price but also for our honor and integrity. We shall see the importance of keeping the bigger picture in mind. Is it really worth getting our way with our wife in buying furniture while our relationship is being damaged?
                                 October 21 - 23 Karachi Marriott Hotel, Karachi 0800 - 1700 Rs 17,500/-

For more info: www.timelenders.com

Strategic Negotiation Skills - 6th Workshop

Date: Thu, 09 Dec 2010 to Sat, 11 Dec 2010

December 09-11 Karachi Marriott Hotel, Karachi 0800 - 1700 Rs 17,500/-
For more info: www.timelenders.com
